At Wick Farm we specialise in growing premium malting barley for brewing and much of this malt finds its way into local breweries (Ringwood brewery for example). We also grow bread and biscuit-making quality wheats and some for animal feed.
Oilseed rape and Linseed are grown as break crops to help maintain the fertility on the light land; this also reduces disease pressure and helps reduce the need for expensive pesticides.
Grass is grown for seed production and this also provides feed for the sheep flock.
The whole farm is managed with the environment in mind; hedgerows are maintained and grassy strips are left alongside hedges, as these will benefit insects and wildlife. There are many other techniques employed that help benefit the wildlife.
